How to choose right TV ..

Now with so many TV from many brands, a normal person having little knowledge of so many technicalities would get confused naturally.

In current era of flash-ad's, if we look into few basic aspects mapping with our need and budget, you would endup with the best product for yourself.

Here are the few points :

Ø      LED-backlit LCDs : LED TVs, the most popular today, are basically LCD televisions with LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) instead of CCFLs. Currently the best in the crop of displays in terms of power consumption

Ø      Currently LG and Philips use IPS panels, while others like Sony and Samsung have VA displays.

Ø      Brightness level in LED TVs is the best, A brightness rating listed as 550 cd/m2 or higher is good

Ø      The darker the screens, the better the TV are at producing a high-contrast picture. A TV cannot produce blacks that are blacker than the screen itself. As a result TV's with "greenish" or "grayish" looking screens produce low contrast pictures.

Ø      When checking contrast ratio numbers, look for Native, Static, or ANSI contrast, not Dynamic or Full On/Full Off contrast. ANSI contrast represents the difference between black and white when both are on the screen at the same time. Dynamic or Full ON/OFF contrast only measures black by itself and white by itself.

Ø      A TV without a comb filter will display "dot crawl" along edges of objects in the picture.

Ø      If you are looking for HD TV then it means it should be 1920x1080 (1080p) native pixel resolutions.

Ø      Motion Response Time (ms = milliseconds). A good LCD TV now should have a Response Time of either 8ms or 4ms, with 4ms being optimum

Ø      Scaling is a process where a television's video processor will match the resolution of the incoming signal to its native pixel resolution.

Ø      Must look for Viewing Angle especially at 45 degree. Clarity should be same as that of what you are seeing from front.

Ø      When buying your television, don't forget additional accessories you might need, such as coaxial and audio-video cables, power surge protector.

Ø      Before deciding on what size of TV is best suited for you, we suggest you to measure to see what size of TV you can accommodate. For a 32-inch LCD TV give yourself about 4-5 feet while for 42, 5-6 minimum.

Hope this would help a lot .. Coming with more update on this .. stay tune .. Also look into blog about choosing right DTH in India.
